Built in 1897 and extended in 1903, QV school catered for Junior
pupils. From the end of the war until 1951, it also housed the pupils
of Chirton School which was demolished by a landmine.
In 1981 it became a training centre until it was finally demolished
and the site became Laurel Heights.
These reliefs and ironwork chart the history of the school through
the reigns of Queen Victoria and King Edward VII
