Saga Ruby - May 2007 - 24,292 tonnes - 191 m/627 ft - 655 passengers - 380 crew Built at Swan Hunter in 1972 as MV Vistafjord she has also been called Caronia and Oasia The last passenger ship built on the Tyne or indeed in GB, this was her first return to the river. It was also the last visit as she was retired in 2014 intended to become a floating hotel 'Oasis' in Burma, but was scrapped instead.
